Things You Should Know About Colors To Sell A House Faster And Better

In the real estate market, a technique called Home Staging is used, which consists of improving the appearance of a home to sell it. This is NOT the same as decoration; it has some resources you can easily carry out. In this sense, paint and colors are of vital importance.

The Color According To The Profile Of Potential Buyers

For example, if you intend to rent an apartment for students, you should use white, but with touches of intense colors, oranges, reds, greens, and yellows. You can do it on cushions, a painting, or a wall—young people like bright, minimalist environments with details that make them look dynamic and modern.

On the other hand, older people prefer neutral tones, beige, pastel tones, environments with a warm appearance, and some bluish tones.

The color also depends on the architecture and style of the property. Maybe soft tones aren’t bad for a classic build. And in a loft, intense colors should not be ruled out.

How Does The Good Condition Of The Paint Effect

The coating that every interior needs, paint has the particularity of renovating walls, ceilings, doors, and windows. Stains, cracks, and traces of a past life are removed, making environments look renewed. That’s why you have to paint.

In addition, a property with new paint creates a feeling of good conservation, and the colors you choose are very important. The color and paint have to make the environment look spacious and pleasant and allow those interested to get an idea of what their life would be like in the place.

Why Should You Use The Color White?

Home Staging, unlike decoration, is intended to create an impersonal environment, making it look more pleasant for the largest number of people, not for one. And precisely, white is the most impersonal and neutral color that exists. It is the canvas that will allow the buyer to plan the future colors, the distribution of their furniture, and the details that they like.

In addition, the white color provides an impression of cleanliness, another characteristic that a home offered for sale must have. And as if that were not enough, it enhances the light, a creative source of good sensations and spaciousness in the interiors.

Neutral, Pastel Tones And A Bit Of Color

Not everything is white; you also have the option of painting in other colors without neglecting the first. Color should be used to create the right effects for future clients. You can also add a bit of color to make each corner visually attractive.

Soft grays and creams have similar effects as white. And on the neutral base, you should add warmth and some information by using other tones in the details.

Pastel colors are perceived as calm. Although they may seem bland to some, they do not generate counterproductive emotions of rejection, fatigue, or nervousness.

Don’t Underestimate The Lighting.

In most cases, the interiors are not bright and friendly like in the magazines. In reality, there are dark sectors and shadows that affect the good appearance and do not look good. To improve this:

  • Use lamps in shadowy corners, corners, hallways, or under the stairs.
  • Place vaporous, ultra-light, and white curtains to improve the entrance of natural light.
  • Use white light, instead of warm light, everywhere.

The first impression is fundamental; that is why the good condition of the property will create greater interest in the potential tenant or buyer from the beginning.…

What Are The Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, And Quaternary Colors?

Workers in uniform. Painter and carpenter craftsman. Flat style modern vector illustration.

Let’s go back to basic color theory and start at the beginning. Colors can be classified into different groups or families, which is why we distinguish between primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. Starting from three main colors (yellow, red, and blue), the rest of the shades of the chromatic circle will be formed. Also, knowing this will help us improve the way we prepare paint colors quickly.

What Are The Primary Colors?

The traditional primary colors are Red, Blue, and Yellow in their deepest known hues. And they are the colors used in the elementary teaching of plastic arts. Primaries cannot be made up of other colors, and they are equidistant on the color wheel.

A more current color model considers Cyan (an intense turquoise), Magenta (a fuchsia red), and Pure Yellow as primary colors, with which all existing colors can be formed. This model is the most used in printing and industry.

What Are The Secondary Colors?

They are obtained by mixing two primary colors in equal parts. The secondary shade obtained depends on the precise shade or pigment used as the primary. In the same way as the previous ones, the secondary ones are at the same distance on the chromatic circle forming a triangle.

The secondaries are orange, green, and purple and are formed as follows:

  • Orange = red + yellow
  • Green = yellow + blue
  • purple = red + blue

What Are The Tertiary Colors?

There are two ways to obtain tertiaries: one is the mixture of equal parts of a primary and a secondary, which we will call intermediate color. And the other is the union of two secondary colors, with which three slightly saturated or dirty tones are achieved. In the image, the Secondariesare indicated with the letter S and the tertiaries with the T:

The tertiaries are formed like this:

  • Old red (top) = purple + orange
  • Slate Grey, or Steel Blue (on the left) = Purple + Green
  • Citron, or dirty yellow (on the right) = green + orange

What Are The Intermediate Colors?

As I said before, the intermediates are tertiary colors that start from the union of a primary and a secondary; that is, they are a step between the two. The intermediate tertiaries are 6 and are formed as follows:

  • Orange-red (Vermillion) = red + orange
  • Purplish red (Guinda)= red + purple
  • Orange Yellow (Amber) = Yellow + Orange
  • Greenish yellow (Lime) = yellow + green
  • Greenish blue ( Teal ) = blue + green
  • Purplish Blue (Indigo) = Blue + Purple

Quaternary Colors

The quaternary is formed from the union of two tertiaries. In this way, dirty, grayish, or earthy colors are obtained. The color is imprecise and depends greatly on the intensity, tone, and quantity of the colors that form it. There are no established names for the quaternary colors.

An important clarification: this note is based on the traditional Coloration Model, also called RYB (Red, Yellow, Blue), since it uses Red, Yellow, and Blue as primary colors. There are also other models where the main colors differ, such as CMY (Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow) or RGB (Red, Green, and Blue). The traditional model is the oldest and widely used in mixing paints and in school or art education.…
